AVID Elementary is a foundational component in closing the achievement gap by preparing all students for college and career readiness and success in a global society. AVID,
Advancement Via Individual Determination, teaches students important
organization and study skills to prepare them for the expectations of
secondary education and beyond. The 2014-2015 school year kicks off a
multi-year implementation, with a strong focus in grades 4, 5, and 6.
AVID
Elementary takes a systemic approach through the use of writing,
inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading, with an explicit
focus on high expectations. AVID at the Elementary level is designed to
be embedded throughout daily instruction.
